Flavours or Resilience, 2020
For a small food business like Pacheco Venezuelan Street Food, the COVID pandemic has presented unique challenges to their established model of serving up fresh Arepas at weekly food markets around Dublin.
“The lockdown has required us to reduce the physical contact between people, our regular setup at the markets just wasn’t possible anymore.
We’ve had to start delivering the arepas direclty to our customer’s homes. It’s been an adjustment, but it’s allowed us to maintain those important relationships even if we can’t see them in person right now” - explains Andrea, one of the owners.
Rather than shut down entirely, Pacheco’s has had to reinvent their operations to continue serving their loyal customer base. Pacheco’s has found a way to keep the community connected to their beloved regional cuisine during the uncertain times.
